Red Hat Guy in escape to the door - Geekfest 2024 Gamejam
For this year's GameJam entry I have decided to go with a simple 2d Platformer that has a Nintendo style to it. Most sprites were created by me and I will be releasing them for others to use at a later date.
The latest edition has a pause function and exit game during play. to pause press enter or start on gamepad and to exit press escape or back on gamepad. I may add new things as the competition draws to a close.
edit** v 1.4 should now be playable on web browser. I say should as I am unfamiliar with how itch.io works.

Nice work! Some of those levels were fiendishly difficult if you wanted to get all the cherries and make it out in time! I actually got pushed into a wall by a platform in one of the stages and couldn't wiggle my way out but up until then I was really enjoying the finesse required to either sprint or not when jumping and wall jumping.
Great aesthetic and a pity we couldn't get it to work on Geekfest night. Bizarre error message, I'm betting it was due to those laptops being pretty old :S
NEW COMMENT ALERT **** bugs noticed with robobees in level 3 room 3. they are considered too difficult even for the creator. If anyone can beat it I will leave it alone but I'm considering making the bees flee "blue mode" for a lot longer in version 1.5****
This brought back a bit of nostalgia 🥹
Those sound effects really fits the theme and art direction of the game. The gameplay was challenging but once you get the hang of it (specially wall jumping) it gets real fun. I was only able to reach room 2 though (since I suck at platformers lol). Overall, the presentation and execution is very well done!
Thanks for the feedback. We have had issues getting the game to work at the geekfest. Seems the computers are incompatible with Vulcan drivers. Anyone know how I can host it as a Web page instead of a download?
